What does CCITCP do? Is it a communication link between Broadcom products and TCPIP?
CCITCP is a client-server configuration that supports PC-to-mainframe connections. It uses one of the following CAICCI TCP/IP server started tasks:
CCITCP, which is a started task using the CAICCI PROTOCOL(TCPIP,…) control option.
CCISSL with SSL support, which is started using the CAICCI PROTOCOL(TCPSSL, …) control option.
The user ID of the used started task must have a valid OMVS segment. Consult your security product for the minimum requirements to setting up an OMVS segment. Sample members of the CCI started tasks are distributed in the CAW0PROC data set.
There are a number of Broadcom Products that can utilize CCITCP/CCISSL. One example is Broadcom Datacom Server which is installed on a Windows platform along with CAICCI/PC. A Datacom Server request is initiated and passed to CCI/PC which "talks" to CCITCP/CCISSL on the mainframe, which would query Datacom on the mainframe. The request is fulfilled and passed back to the Datacom Server application.
