Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
When cloning a virtual machine that has an IPv6 address it keeps both addresses.
Cloning a virtual machine that has an IPv6 address is successful, but the virtual machine does not connect to the network.
Environment
VMware vCenter Server 5.1.x VMware vCenter Server 5.0.x
Cause
When cloning a virtual machine that has one IPv6 statically assigned interface, the sysprep customization creates an additional interface versus the expected behavior of removing the original interface. The DHCP enabled tag that vCenter Server is passing through the sysprep answer .xml file is not supported by Microsoft for IPv6.
Resolution
Currently, IPV6 support for guest operating system customization is not supported in vCenter Server.
