Issue/Introduction

This article provides information for users to avoid misinterpreting "Resources" visible in the UI as the already existing/configured resource pool in cluster.

Symptoms:

When collecting NSX controller node details through clicking on IP, popup shows cluster and resource pool details, you see this symptom:

Resource pool showing name as 'Resources' which is not configured while deploying controller.

Environment

VMware NSX Data Center for vSphere 6.4.x

Cause

This issue occurs when you select only the cluster while doing controller deployment and it will appear on the UI when you click on the IP address of the controller node. This can happen when there is no Resource pool created in cluster.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware NSX Data Center for vSphere 6.4.6.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
There is no workaround for this issue as it appears on the UI while gathering the controller node info.

if it shows the value of resource pool as 'Resources', then there is no resource pool configured on the cluster (Unless the user has configured the resource pool with name "Resources").
