Integrating Usage Meter with Aria Operations Manager

Issue/Introduction

Usage Meter cannot discover Aria Operations Manager after registering vCenter Server.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 3.6.x

Cause

vCenter Server extension list does not have the correct "com.vmware.vcops" extension.

Check below steps whether vCenter have vRealize Operations Manager extension correctly.

• login vCenter mob interface https://vcenter ip/mob as administrator
• select content -> Extension Manager
• Make sure the "com.vmware.vcops" extension is listed.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, re-register the vCenter Server adapter instance in Aria Operations Manager:

1. Log into the vRealize Operations Manager UI as the local admin user.
2. Navigate to Administration > Solutions.
3. In the Solution tab, select VMware vSphere and click Configure.
4. In the Manage Solution window, select the desired vCenter Adapter instance on the left.
5. Click Manage Registrations then click Unregister, and OK.
6. Click Manage Registrations again.
7. Enter Global Administrative credentials for the vCenter, then click Register and OK.
8. Click Save Settings.

Re-register vCenter to Usage Meter and check if Usage Meter discover Aria Operations Manager.
