Preventing NSX Edge appliance from being deleted if deployment fails

Symptoms:
Keep the NSX Edge VM after deployment failure

Environment

VMware NSX

Resolution

To retain the failed appliance, follow the steps below:
  1. Login to the NSX Manager in root mode.
  2. Edit the following file: #vi /home/secureall/secureall/sem/WEB-INF/classes/edge.properties
  3. Replace deleteEdgeVmOnFailure=true with deleteEdgeVmOnFailure=false
  4. Restart the bluelane service: #/etc/init.d/bluelane-manager restart ​​​

Alternatively, you can use the one step command:
#sed -i 's/deleteEdgeVmOnFailure=true/deleteEdgeVmOnFailure=false/' /home/secureall/secureall/sem/WEB-INF/classes/edge.properties && /etc/init.d/bluelane-manager restart

Note: It is important to revert on the above change once the troubleshooting is complete.
