Cause

This issue occurs due to errors encountered by the file system resulting in the removal of mount point /dev/mapper/nsx-tmp. This mount point is required for successful bootup of the NSX-T Edge.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.3.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue:
  1. Run the fsck /dev/mapper/nsx-tmp command.
  2. Press "Yes" to fix all errors encountered by the file system.
  3. Run the "Reboot" command. The NSX-T Edge should now boot into default mode.
