Silent Install parameters are ignored by the VMware Workstation 9 installer

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• While using silent install for installing VMware Workstation, some of the parameters are ignored
• Silent installation of Workstation ignores these parameters :
  
• • REMOVE
  • INSTALLDIR
  • ADDLOCAL
    
    
• Workstation is successfully installed, but the parameters are ignored

Environment

VMware Workstation 9.x (Windows)

Cause

This issue is under investigation.

Resolution

This is a known issue in VMware Workstation 9.x.

To work around this issue, you must manually configure the ignored parameters through the installer or Workstation user interface.
