Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • When the vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) installation is canceled or fails, the installation rolls back to the pre-installation state, but the vCenter Server Java Components (JRE) and vCenter tc Server component are still installed.
  • Even when the SSO installation fails and rolls back, the vCenter Server Java Components (JRE) and vCenter tc Server component remain installed.


Environment

VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x

Resolution

This is a known issue in vCenter Server 5.5. For more information, see the VMware vSphere 5.5 Release Notes.

To work around this issue, remove the vCenter Server Java Component (JRE) and vCenter tc Server components manually using the Windows Programs and Features in the Control Panel.
