E1000E network adapter is not supported in Photon OS 1.0

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• If VM is deployed from Photon OS 1.0 OVA, E1000E network adapter would not be supported by this VM.
• Running command dmesg or lspci cannot show the E1000E driver.
• Running command cat /proc/net/dev cannot list the E1000E network device.
• Running modinfo e1000e reports error Module e1000e not found.
  • root@photon-machine [ ~ ]# modinfo e1000e
  • modinfo: ERROR: Module e1000e not found

VMware Photon Platform 1.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue upgrade Photon OS 1.0 to latest version. For more information see Photon OS Administration Guide.
