The offline-bundle.zip file contains the VIB and the necessary metadata to install the provider on VMware ESXi.

This section has two parts:

Initial installation

To install the QLogic Fibre Channel and Converged Network Adapter CIM Provider using the esxcli software vib install command:

  3. Reboot the system even if the installation does not ask for a reboot.
  4. After reboot, enable the provider:

    # /sbin/esxcfg-advcfg -A CIMvmw_providerProviderEnabled -T int -E
    "Enable or Disable the CIMvmw_providerProviderEnabled" -F 1 -N

    Make sure it is enabled:

    # esxcfg-advcfg --set 1
    /UserVars/CIMvmw_providerProviderEnabled

Restart SFCB to pick up the settings:

    # /etc/init.d/sfcbd-watchdog restart
