Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When logged into the vSphere Web Client using the IP address in a vCenter Server ,importing and exporting Content Library items fail. The following error message appears:

Reason: Unable to update files in the library item. The source or destination may be slow or not responding.

 

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution. 

To work around this follow this steps.
 

  1. Make sure Content library service in running state. For more information, see How to stop, start, or restart vCenter Server 6.x services 
  2. Log in to vCenter through vSphere Web Client using a fully qualified domain name.
  3. If logged into the vSphere Web Client using an IP address, accept the certificate that is issued when logging in with a fully qualified domain name. Open the fully qualified domain name target to accept the certificate. Accepting the certificate permanently should be sufficient.
