How to manage a specific user in Watch4Net
The following settings are available in the Watch4net Users Management dialog:
- Connection Data: In the Connection Data section, users have to provide this information when logging in. If APG does not use its own authentication (as in LDAP environments), then there is no need to specify a password.
- Personal Data: In the Personal Data section, some optional information about the user can be filled. They are not mandatory, but it is recommended to fill the email field in order to benefit from some features of APG. Indeed, the user email address is used to send information to the user such as stored reports completion or a requested report.
- User Status: The User Status section defines the user status, the profile and roles assignment. User status has two types of users:
- Normal User: Normal user is the default status. They can be disabled => No login will be possible.
- Global Administrator: Global administrators have full rights over the whole applications and all it s component; they cannot be disabled, have no restriction, at all and can navigate through all the available templates.
- Profile: Select the profile created before (English Profile or French Profile). The user profile defines regional, timezone and other display properties.
- Role: The user roles define the access and restrictions that will be applied to the user.
- Other Options: The Other Options section regroups critical settings.
- Master Filter: This filter can be used to restrict access to APG data.
- IMPORTANT! Filters from different assigned roles will first be combined with using an OR, and then the resulting filter will be combined with the user one using an AND.
- Has custom tree?: The user custom tree is a specific per-user branch of the tree, which one can be modified at will by its owner.
- CAUTION! If you uncheck the checkbox here, the current user loses his or her own branch.
