- Smarts Server Manager (ESM) core dumps after it tries to monitor a non-responding vCenter for several hours
- Many polls are started on vCenters but still in progress when the Smarts Server Manager (ESM) server crashes
Environment
VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS
Cause
The above issue is caused by too many simultaneous polls of the same vCenters.
Resolution
A new logic is introduced to polling to make sure that simultaneous polls don't get kicked off. Fix is available in ESM 9.0 patch 3 and onwards.
