You can re-read a modified oid2type file without having to restart the running Smarts IP domain manager using the following command (see Note statement):

<BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/sm_tpmgr -s <AM_DOMAIN> --reloadoid

EMC Smarts Support strongly recommends using the Smarts sm_edit utility whenever you edit oid2type files.
