Issue/Introduction

Overview of how a modified oid2type file can be reloaded in a IP without having to restart the domain manager

Environment

Smarts 10.X / 2.X

Resolution

A modified oid2type file can be reloaded in Smarts IP without having to restart the domain manager. This would allow for a certification file to be re-read by the IP Domain while it is still running.

To do so, you can re-read a modified oid2type file without having to restart the running Smarts IP domain manager using the following command:

<BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/sm_tpmgr -s <AM_DOMAIN> --reloadoid

Additional Information

Support recommends using the Smarts sm_edit utility whenever you edit oid2type files
