Device name is associated with incorrect IP.  How do I determine how Smarts will resolve a device name?

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

DNS server entry is misconfigured or there are multiple DNS servers where the IP address was associated with wrong device name.

Resolution

Use the SM-System nameToAddr [host name] and SM-System addrToName [IP address] commands to verify device name to IP mapping, and correct as necessary. The following examples show the complete syntax of these two commands:

<BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/dmctl -s INCHARGE-AM invoke SM_System::SM-System nameToAddr moto-gw

<BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/dmctl -s INCHARGE-AM invoke SM_System::SM-System addrToName 192.168.1.1
