Error Message in Smarts discovery: SWFE-W-Agent loops in response to GET_NEXT: Agent: <agent>, First OID: <OID> .

Issue/Introduction

The following error message occurs in the log file during a discovery:

Error Message: SWFE-W-Agent loops in response to GET_NEXT: Agent: <agent>, First OID: <OID>

Environment

Smarts 10.1.X / 2.X

Cause

This message indicates the Agent's response is a violation of the standard protocol and is a response but one that Smarts InCharge cannot handle. 

This will result with a Discovery-error or incomplete discovery.

Resolution

Customer should contact device's manufacturer or Agent's vendor and pursue resolution of the Agent's looping problem in response to SNMP requests. 

This is not a bug in the InCharge code but a bug in the SNMP Agent response to a Standard SNMP query.
