Error Message: SWFE-W-Agent loops in response to GET_NEXT: Agent: <agent>, First OID: <OID>

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

This message indicates the Agent's response is a violation of the standard protocol and is a response but one InCharge cannot handle.  This will result with a Discovery-error or incomplete discovery.

Resolution

Customer should contact device's manufacturer or Agent's vendor and pursue resolution of the Agent's looping problem in response to SNMP requests.  This is not a bug in the InCharge code but a bug in the SNMP Agent response to a Standard SNMP query.
