How does Smarts IP calculate the CPU utilization for a Redback Router 800 device?

CPU utilization in Smarts IP for Redback Router 800 does not match output from device

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

There are three OIDs which could be used for CPU utilization on Redback Router 800 devices:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.6.1.1 CpuMeterFiveSecondAvg
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.6.1.2 CpuMeterOneMinuteAvg
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.6.1.3 CpuMeterFiveMinuteAvg

Smarts uses the value returned by the device for CPU Metering five minute average. Smarts IP obtains this information in discovery using the file located in the rules/discovery/ic-redback-router800-health.asl. The information returned by the device is used as the CPU utilization number, so it may not correspond directly to a point in time utilization on the device.
