How to remove a notification in Smarts SAM or OI using ASL.



Removing or archiving a notification manually (using ASL) is possible but should only be done under the supervision of a Smarts Technical Support Engineer. If you do need to remove a notification manually in SAM or OI using ASL, contact EMC Smarts Technical Support for assistance, and quote this solution ID.

CAUTION! Removing or archiving a notification manually (using ASL) is not advised under normal conditions, and there are limitations to what can be done manually through ASL. Also, be aware that removing or archiving a notification is really only useful for notifications stemming from syslog, trap, or other adapter events generated from the OI server. Removing or archiving a notification has no value if the source of the notification is an analysis domain because the notification will renotify.
