Getting "AUTH-E-ENOTAUTHENTICATED-Unable to authenticate" errors in the broker log file

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

This error message is seen when some external adapter or script is attempting to log in to a Smarts domain using an incorrect ID and/or password.

Resolution

Review all the external processes that interact with Smarts and use process of elimination to determine which external process in your environment is causing these error messages. Correct the credentials that that process is using.

The following error message appears in the broker log file:
