How do I install the Release Patch (RP) with Smarts?

First check the BaseDir/ <Smarts Product>  IP, SAM, ESM, NPM, etc
Check the directory you should see the following directories.

-rw-r--r--  1 root root 87888896 Jun 20 09:57 _jvm.tar
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root     4096 Jun 20 10:07 _rpuninst
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root     4096 Jun 20 09:56 smarts
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root     4096 Jun 20 09:57 _uninst

If there has been a Release Patch installed you will see that there is the _rpuninst folder.  This is from a Linux install but the Windows directories will be similar.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1383727 Jun 20 10:07 assembly.dat
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  118299 Jun 20 10:07 rpuninstall.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root     513 Jun 20 10:07 run.inf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   14656 Jun 20 10:07 uninstall.dat
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root   87040 Jun 20 10:07 uninstaller.bin

The Release Patch (RP) can be uninstalled by:

For Windows based systems:  Control Panel"-> Add/Remove Programs

Make sure you select the Smarts Product Patch Release as desired.

For UNIX based systems:  there is a _rpuninst directory in BASEDIR of each installed product

from this directory run the following command

 uninstaller.bin -console

Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the uninstall of the release Patch.

The Smarts Base Uninstall is similar:

For Windows based systems:  Control Panel"-> Add/Remove Programs

For Linux Systems look at the _uninst directory

[root@smarts _uninst]# ls -l
total 1596
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1314248 Jun 20 09:57 assembly.dat
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root     513 Jun 20 09:57 run.inf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  103811 Jun 20 09:57 uninstall.dat
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root   87040 Jun 20 09:57 uninstaller.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  118299 Jun 20 09:57 uninstall.jar

If these files are present you should be able to run the following command:

uninstaller.bin -console
