• error: SWFE-W-Agent loops in response to GET_NEXT: Agent: <agent>, First OID: <OID>
• Device not properly discovered
• Discovery error in server log file

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The vendor's SNMP implementation is buggy.

Resolution

This indicates that the SNMP agent violates the standard protocol.  Smarts cannot handle this violation but issues a warning so that you can address this problem.  It will result with a discovery-error or incomplete discovery.  File a defect report with the device's vendor.
