Issue/Introduction

List of OIDs does IP Manager uses to discover, monitor and generate alarms for "Power Supply" when a device is instrumented to use CiscoStack where the device certification file has following configuration:

CONT = Cisco-Stack
Environment = CiscoStack

Environment

All Supported Smarts releases

Resolution

Smarts IP uses the following OIDs to discover, monitor and generate alarms for Power Supply on devices instrumented to use Cisco-Stack.

  • OIDs for Power Supply discovery on Cisco-Stack
    Smarts IP uses the following OIDs to discover devices instrumented to use Cisco-Stack:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.3 (chassisPs1Type)
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.6 (chassisPs2Type)
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.20 (chassisPs3Type)

If the type returned by the above OIDs is not 2 ("none"), Smarts IP creates the PowerSupply, and the description will contain the type obtained from polling the above OIDs.

  • OIDs for Power Supply monitoring and alarms on Cisco-Stack
    If Smarts IP creates a power supply based on its discovery of the OIDs in the preceding section, Smarts IP will monitor and generate alarms based on the status of the following OIDs:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.4 (chassisPs1Status)
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.7 (chassisPs2Status)
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.21 (chassisPs3Status)

The above OIDs have the following possible status values that determine whether Smarts IP will generate an alarm:

1 : other
2 : ok
3 : minorFault
4 : majorFault
