Custom Polling and Threshold (P&T) group

Issue/Introduction

• Create Custom Polling and Threshold (P&T) group.
• Change P&T for a device since device needs different threshold value.
• Device is a member of the wrong Smarts Polling/Threshold Group

Environment

Smarts - 10.1.x/24.3.x

Resolution

Change P&T 

• Identify if the device is a member of any other group. If it is, make sure the group you want it to be a member of has a higher priority than that group:
  • Go to the Priority Tab for the Polling/Threshold group.
  • Raise the priority level as needed, see screenshot for reference:
    
  • Run a reconfigure to update members.
• If a device is not a member of any other group, make sure the matching criteria for the group you create will match on the device in question.

Create custom P&T 

• Identify where new custom group to be created.
• Right click and select "New Group", see image:
  
• Provide "Name" and "Description" as per your requirement.
• Select the group and add "Settings" which all is needed as per your requirement, see image:
  
• Move this new group to top of "Priorities" since if a device is member of other high priority group, it will not be added in newly created group, see image:
  
  
  
• Make "Matching Criteria" to match device.
• Apply the changes.
• Reconfigure the domain
• Ensure the device is added as member to newly created group.
