Symptoms:




"Application MissingProcess" alarms from  ESM are not propagated at hosts level in the Smarts SAM Map Console
Smarts SAM  Map Console has no label for host indicating Active Notifications for "Application MissingProcess" alarms as there would be if there were Interface Down alarms

Alarm label displays when the Application is viewed, but Smarts SAM  Map Console has no label for host indicating Active Notifications for "Application MissingProcess" alarms

Cause

An issue with an Application residing on a device does not mean that there is anything wrong with the device itself.

Resolution

No fix is available or required. This Smarts SAM behavior is by design.

An issue with an Application residing on a device does not mean that there is anything wrong with the device itself.
This is different from an Interface which is part of the device. 

Also, Smarts SAM does not have the capability to show hardware items such as Interfaces, Cards, TemperatureSensors and so on in Map Console.  

Smarts SAM Map Console can show the Applications, but only the Application itself will be highlighted and not the host as the application down is not an indication of a problem with the actual host.
