Issue/Introduction

Smarts Network Protocol Management (NPM) application cannot discover Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) session objects
BGP Sessions similar to the following are found from the SNMP walk:

.1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.5.213.1.79.80: x.x.x.x
 .1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.5.213.1.79.126: x.x.x.x
 .1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.5.213.1.79.138: x.x.x.x
 .1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.5.213.1.79.154: 0.0.0.0
 .1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.5.213.1.79.158: 0.0.0.0

BGP session objects are not discovered for Cisco device from Smarts NPM

Environment

Smarts - 10.1.x

Smarts DM - 2.x

TCSA DM -2.x

Cause

Smarts NPM will not display a BGP session with a end point of 0.0.0.0. An IP address of 0.0.0.0 indicates a TCP/IP network cannot be reached. Having this address, a computer cannot be reached or communicate with any other devices over an IP network.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure the correct session (endpoints) are on the device.
