If someone takes ownership of an alarm without acknowledging it and there is a subsequent Clear, does this clear the alarm?
Will an alarm be archived that has an owner and has not been acknowledged before it was cleared?

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

Yes, an alarm will be cleared by the Clear operation whether or not it has been acknowledged. However, such an alarm will only get archived after the alarm ownership has been released and the Inactive Auto Archive Interval has expired.
