Deleted a device in AM, but SAM still shows the device and event associated with it

Issue/Introduction

Deleted a device in Smarts AM, but Smarts SAM still shows the device and event associated with it.

Environment

Smarts - 10.1.x

Smarts DM - 2.x

TCSA DM - 2.x

Cause

Deleting a device in the Smarts AM-PM server does not cause a Topology Synchronization with the Smarts SAM server. A Topology Synchronization must occur before Smarts SAM will remove the device and associated event that were deleted in Smarts AM.

Resolution

To force a Topology Synchronization, you can do any one of the following:

• Manually execute the Topology Synchronization: dmctl -s SAMServername invoke GA_Driver::<domain-name>_Topo-Driver start
• Discover or rediscover any device in Smarts AM. This will trigger an automatic Topology Synchronization.
• Run the ICS_RemoteConfig.asl script as follows:
  
  sm_adapter -s <SAM_domain> -b <broker> ics/ICS_RemoteConfig.asl
