How do you get Smarts IP tagging data into the Smarts AM domain without running another full discovery of AM?
Two discoveries are required for IP tags to populate into the AM domain after MPLS VPN-Tagging server discovery Double AM discovery required to get MPLS tagging data into AM.
Environment
VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS
Cause
When Smarts MPLS discovery runs, the VPN-Tagging server populates the IP tagging information to tables within the Smarts AM domain. AM discovery is already complete when MPLS discovery runs.
Resolution
A full AM discovery is not required to get the IP tagging data into the AM domain. However, post-processing is required, which will process the data populated by the VPN-Tagging server. To run post-processing seperately, run the following command:
sm_tpmgr -s <AM-domain> --start-post
Additional Information
Because AM post-processing is running again, the MPLS server will synchronize with AM once the AM post-processing is complete.
