Explanation of the option named "MinimumDemandGet" in the discovery.conf file of the IP Suite 6.2.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

To optimize discovery performance, ICF_TopologyManager uses the parameter "MinimumDemandGet" to control the demand get requests.  If MinimumDemandGet is set to TRUE and the server is running DISCOVERY_MANAGER, the following demand get will be skipped:
     ifMtu, ifSpeed, ifAlias, ifHCInOctets, ifHighSpeed

This should not be enabled if performance monitoring is to be done.
