Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:




Not receiving down notifications when interface is down

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

Interfaces classified with a mode of  "ONDEMAND" will not generate notifications when down

Resolution

In order to have notifications on these devices, create a new Interface Threshold group that will match the interfaces in question and place this higher than the "dial on demand" group.
