Receive the following in Smarts AM/Smarts PM:

ASL-ERROR_GET-While attempting to get property 'TopologyUpdateInfo' of object

The following message is seen in the Smarts IP server.log file

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The "TopologyUpdateInfo" referenced in the above Symptom statements (in the opt/InCharge6/IP/smarts/rules/health/env-setting.asl file) is a data structure that is part of the SNMPAgent object. If you check the SNMPAgent object of the particular device in question, you should find this set as part of its attribute. Smarts uses this data structure for various purposes depending on the value of the "key" in the data structure. For example, Smarts can use this structure to override the default instrumentation for an interface or a Card based on the "FAULT_KEY".

Resolution

No action is required. This is only a warning message and is not an issue with the Smarts IP server.
