Avaya VoIP traps are not being forwarded by Smarts VoIP-PM

Errors similar to the following are found in the Ionix/Smarts VoIP.log file:

Cause

The above problem symptoms occur because the problem OIDs are not listed in the Smarts VoIP avaya_trap_mgr.conf configuration file. Per the Ionix/Smarts VoIP configuration guide, the avaya-trapd.conf configuration file must contain a list of Avaya VoIP traps to be used by the VoIP Availability Manager for analysis purposes, as well as a list of Avaya VoIP informational traps to be converted to notifications by the VoIP Notification Trap Adapter and used by console users for informational purposes.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, edit the avaya_trap_mgr.conf using sm_edit to include the OIDs that are missing from the file.
