Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

IP addresses are layered over Interfaces but not evident in HostAccessPoints

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The IP addresses are Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) IP addresses. Virtual HSRP addresses do not get added to HostsAccessPoints.

Resolution

You can check to see if an IP address is a virtual HSRP address by looking at the cHsrpGrpVirtualIpAddr OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.106.1.2.1.1.11.). If this object contains an IP address for an interface, then it will not be displayed as a HostAccessPoint.
