Symptoms:




IP tagging is not working in Smarts IP
All the correct configurations are set in the Tagging fields in the Polling and Thresholds screen

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

Setting change required in the Smarts IP discovery.conf configuration file.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. Open the Smarts IP tpmgr-param.conf configuration file for editing using sm_edit as follows:
   
   <BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/sm_edit conf/discovery/tpmgr-param.conf
    
2. Ensure the following setting is made:
   
   DisableOverlappingIP FALSE
    
3. Restart the Smarts IP domain to apply the change.

The above fix applies to Smarts IP 7.0 and later
