If either side of the TCP connection misses two consecutive keep alive messages, the connection is declared dead and closed.
The known reasons this problem occurs are:
- One of the domains was shutdown normally.
- One of the domains crashed or halted abnormally.
- One of the domains could not get enough CPU cycles to process and send back the keep alives.
- A part of the network connection (switch, router, firewall, tunnel) is stripping the urgent (URG) bit in the TCP/IP header.
If the error message is not due to a domain being shutdown normally, contact Technical Support for assistance in determining the cause of the error message.
