Receive OSPF MTUMismatch and OSPF NeighborState alarms when link is down between two neighboring devices, but not OSPF Neighbor Relationship Down alarm

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

MTU values are different on the neighboring devices. In one environment that encountered this issue, the MTU values on the devices were MTU1: 1900 and MTU2: 1914. To generate the OSPF Neighbor Relationship Down alarm, the MTU must the same on each device.

Resolution

No fix is required. Smarts Network Protocol Manager (Smarts NPM) is functioning as designed.
