Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:




Containment not available in Smarts IP for a certified host device
Even though a Smarts IP host device is certified, there are no values available in the containment window of the host device for CPU, File System Memory and network status for the device

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The host devices are contained within an incorrect polling group (for a switch). Therefore, this polling group is not polling for the correct host information, so the data is not visible in environment.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. Restart the Smarts IP domain with a clean RPS file.
2. Create the appropriate polling group for the host devices.
3. Ensure that the host devices are contained within the appropriate polling group.
