Symptoms:




Tool tips labels for connections of a selected group in "Group Physical Connectivity" of the Smarts SAM Map Console do not match the connection types
When selecting "Group Physical Connectivity" for a group in the Smarts SAM Map Console, the connections appear to be drawn correctly but the tool tips are for BGPSession connections or OSPFNetwork connections instead of the actual physical network connections.

When you right-click on an individual device of a selected group in "Group Physical Connectivity" that has incorrect tool tips and select "Physical Connectivity", the physical connections shown appear to be for NetworkConnection connections, which is correct

Cause

The tool tips labels in the "Group Physical Connectivity" map are not correct. The "Group Physical Connectivity" and "Physical Connectivity" maps use different methods to retrieve the data for creating the map edges.

Resolution

EMC Smarts Engineering is aware of this issue and is investigating the requirements to provide an enhancement/fix that will cause the Map Console to use the same method for creating the map edges for the "Group Physical Connectivity" map as is already being used for the "Physical Connectivity" map. The "correct" method used for the "Physical Connectivity" map passes the connection object as an argument so the name of the edge is preserved correctly.
