Missing NetworkConnection between CE and PE devices using MPLS tagging server

Environment

Supported Smarts versions

Cause

Only the network ID (10.20.25.0) is populated to the MIB for the PE. Because of this, the NetworkConnection between the CE and the PE will not be built. Even though Smarts MPLS can identify the local interface Index, it cannot identify the remote CE device.

Resolution

This network configuration is not supported by the Smarts MPLS vpn-tagging server. To resolve this issue, ensure that the CE of a vpn-tagging server meets the following conditions:

• The loopback IP address of each CE device is unique and known
• The loopback IP address of each CE device is used to advertise the route in VRF so that Smarts can identify a CE device with its loopback IP address.
