What is the purpose of CLI tab under Polling & Threshold in Smarts IP Availability Manager (Smarts AM)?

The CLI access tab in the Polling and Thresholds is used by MPLS (multi-protocol label switching) domains managed by the Smarts MPLS Manager for full discovery. The CLI access tab functionality is not used by any other Smarts domains. Smarts MPLS uses the CLI access functionality as follows:

  1. Smarts MPLS retrieves data from the IP domain to discover the network topology elements that use multi-protocol layer switching.
  2. During this operation, Smarts MPLS also fetches information entered into the IP domain that will allow the MPLS domain to log into the devices and run various informaiton-gathering commands.
  3. The responses to the commands are then parsed by the Smarts MPLS software to gather necessary monitoring and analytics data.
