Issue/Introduction

  • What does Disable Fault Analysis for Interface/Port threshold setting do?

  • Setting "Disable Fault Analysis for Interface/Port" is also disabling Performance Analysis in Thresholds setting.

Environment

All supported releases of Smart

Resolution

  • Disable Fault Analysis for Interface/Port will remove the instrumentation object for the Interface/Port and will prevent connectivity status polling of this Interface/Port Threshold group.

  • No SNMP Fault Analysis Poll will be gathered for Interfaces or Ports that's belong on this group.

  • Current design is even if "Disable Performance Analysis for Interface/Port" is not selected, Performance Analysis will still be disabled.

  • Example of Disable Fault Analysis set to TRUE:

        <BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/dmctl -s INCHARGE-AM get Interface::IF- <name>/369::InstrumentedBy { Interface_Fault_MIB2::I-Interface_Fault_MIB2-IF-<name>/369 }

  • If the Disable Fault Analysis is set to FALSE, the above command will return empty.
