Global Console Displays Incorrect Severity For Notifications

Issue/Introduction

The Smarts SAM Global Console displaying incorrect severity for Notifications, and all events from an underlying Smarts SAM domain shows Severity as minor

Environment

Smarts 10.x / 2.X

Cause

Notifications are unable to match the Severity that are set in the dxa configuration file. 

 

For example, if event state descriptions is set to "DOWN" in the dxa-conn.conf, while the event in Global Console has "Down", then the mismatch will cause events to revert to default Severity. By default, Severity is set to 3, which is minor.

Resolution

Severity can be overwritten by modifying the dxa file in Smarts SAM for an underlying domain.
