Symptoms:


Smarts NCM/VoyenceControl cannot discover a device

Smarts NCM/VoyenceControl discovery job results state the following:

Valid Credentials Found, but could not determine driver for device

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

The device class of the device is not enabled in the Smarts NCM/VoyenceControl Auto Discovery Manager.

Resolution

To address this issue, do the following:

1. Open the Smarts NCM/VoyenceControl System Administration window and navigate to the target network. 
    
2. Under the Auto Discovery Manager > Device Classes area for that network, do either of the following:

• Manage the device class for the device you are discovering.
• Uncheck the Override Network Device Classes Settings option.
