Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

The Firefox browser is restricting access to Voyence Report Advisor over SSL because the serial number of the certificate being served to the Firefox browser matches an existing certificate's serial number in the Firefox browser cache. This can occur because previously accepted EMC, EMC Corporation, and Voyence certificates are present in the browser cache.

Resolution

Support: To resolve this issue, the Firefox browser cache must be cleared of the previously accepted certificates referenced above. This can be done as follows:

  1. Open the Firefox browser and navigate to the Options dialog.
  2. Click on Advanced at the top of the Options dialog and then click on the Encryption tab
  3. Click on View Certificates to access the Firefox Certificate Manager.
  4. From the Certificate Manager, click on the Servers tab.
  5. Select all certificates listed under the headings EMC, EMC Corporation, and Voyence, and click the Delete button to remove them.
  6. Click OK and close all Firefox browser windows.
  7. Open a new Firefox browser window and confirm you can launch Voyence Report Advisor over the secure HTTPS connection.
