Symptoms:




Cannot access Smarts Network Configuration Manager (Smarts NCM) SysAdmin Console
Smarts NCM SysAdmin Console will not open

Smarts NCM SysAdmin Console is timing out

Smarts NCM SysAdmin services are running but cannot access the SysAdmin Console

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

This issue can occur if the Linux Firewall is running.

Resolution

If you encounter this issue, do the following:

1. Run the following command to check if the Linux Firewall is enabled:
   
   /etc/init.d/iptables status
   
    
2. If the command output indicates that the Firewall is enabled, run the following commands in sequence:
   
   service iptables save
   
   service iptables stop
   
   chkconfig iptables off
