Issue/Introduction

Cannot access Smarts Network Configuration Manager (Smarts NCM) SysAdmin Console

• Smarts NCM SysAdmin Console will not open
• Smarts NCM SysAdmin Console is timing out
• Smarts NCM SysAdmin services are running but cannot access the SysAdmin Console

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

This issue can occur if the Linux Firewall is running.

Resolution

If you encounter this issue:

1. Run the following command to check if the Linux Firewall is enabled:
   
   /etc/init.d/iptables status
   
    
2. If the command output indicates that the Firewall is enabled, run the following commands in sequence:
   
   service iptables save

service iptables stop

chkconfig iptables off
