If you encounter this issue in your environment, ensure that the model number entry defined for the model that is not displaying in the Smarts model file is specified in the first (far left) column in the model file.
Example
Consider an environment that has two Cisco switches, model CAT4507 and model WS-C4507R, that have model entries defined in the Smarts model file like the following:
WS-C4507; 1.501; 2; CAT4507; CATALYST4507; WS-C4507R
The model that the Smarts NCM console would display for this entry would be the model in the first column (WS-C4507). You could get Smarts NCM to display the CAT4507 instead of the WS-C4507 for the model entry by placing the CAT4507 in the first column and placing the WS-C4507 in the 4th column next to the CATALYST4507, as in the following:
CAT4507; 1.501; 2; WS-C4507; CATALYST4507; WS-C4507R
