Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
Compliance checks against Juniper Routers come back as non-compliant when they should be coming back compliant. When Compare Configs is used against Juniper Routers the compare window displays the configurations with numerous spaces, which do not exist on the devices.
Environment
VMware Smart Assurance - NCM
Cause
These Juniper Routers are configured for SSH/FTP or Telnet/FTP for their in-band communication mechanism.
Resolution
Follow these steps;
Within VoyenceControl, right-click on each affected Juniper Router and go to Properties.
In the Device Properties window, go to the Communication tab.
Select Update Credentials from this tab.
Under In-Band Communications > Management > Mechanism select a Mechanism from the drop-down menu that does not include FTP.
Click Save Only to apply this change in VoyenceControl.
Right-click on the edited device and go to Pull > Pull Config.
After the pull completes and generates a new revision, refresh Network View and run another Compliance Audit.
