VoyenceControl: ReportAdvisor shows Not Audited for devices when running a Compliance Audit Report that incorporates an Attribute Test against AccessControlLists

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:




Running a Compliance Audit in VoyenceControl comes back with compliant/non-compliant, while a Compliance Audit Report comes back with Not Audited for the same device(s).

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

Attribute Tests can be auditing configuration units that are not listed in the current DCS, such as AccessControlLists. This will cause a problem because reports in ReportAdvisor are run against the latest DCS, which does not include AccessControlLists.

Resolution

1. Within VoyenceControl, open up the Standard that includes the Attribute Test.
   
    
2. Go to the Tests tab.
    
3. Click the Attribute Test on the right-hand pane.
    
4. Click the Manage Config icon directly above.
    
5. Add running as the Audit Unit and remove AccessControlLists.
    
6. Click OK.
    
7. Save the Standard.
